Dr. Jon McDonald graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2005, where he received Honors in Research. His professional awards include The Southwest Academy Award for Restorative Dentistry, The Southwest Prosthodontic Society Award and The American Equilibration Society award. He practiced in Utah for 4 years prior to moving to Los Alamos in 2009.
Previous to that, Dr. McDonald attended Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship, named to deans list, and received a BS in Zoology. While attending dental school, he was awarded the William Dickerson and the OKU scholarships. He is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He is a member of the American Dental Association, New Mexico Dental Association, and the Santa Fe Dental Association.
He grew up in Utah where he met and married his wife. They have two children. They enjoy time together and being outside. Dr. McDonald’s personal interests are road and mountain biking, reading, skiing and running.
